The design of new headquarters of the Humane Society of Southern Arizona emphasizes the compassionate care of animals while balancing economy, efficiency and durability. The campus is formed by a series of alternating metal and masonry volumes that are durable and energy efficient while maximizing sound absorption and indirect natural light. A clear and logical layout enhances operational efficiency for both employees and visitors. Spaces for animals and their care givers are naturally lit and well-ventilated making for an intentionally calming spatial experience.
